The first hurdle isn’t the design of your practice website. It’s getting in touch at all. That’s why everything you show to the outside world has one main job: to make that one step as easy as possible.

Why it’s different
People rarely land on a practice website on a good day. That changes everything: the length of the text, the tone, how many clicks it’s fair to ask before someone gets in touch.
I see two things again and again. First, forms that ask about the concern – in other words, for someone to type their diagnosis into a text field before any trust exists. Second, jargon that mainly reassures colleagues.
Both can be avoided without the site looking unprofessional. Quite the opposite.

The form asks for name, how to reach you and preferred times. What brings someone belongs in the first session, not in a form field.
Who reads the message, where it’s stored and for how long. One paragraph that builds more trust than any seal.
Behavioural, psychodynamic, systemic – explained in one sentence that someone without prior knowledge understands.
Statutory, private, self-pay or reimbursement – the site answers the most common unasked question openly.
A field you change yourself. Nothing is more frustrating than calling a practice that’s been full for two years.
The site works with generous line spacing and calm colours, without stock photos of people at the window. Here, less stimulation is the point.
“Psychotherapist” plus town is the search. Structure, headings and Google profile tuned to it.
Squarespace, WordPress or Webflow – what fits depends on who touches the site afterwards. For nu:well it’s Squarespace.

How it works
01
Who do you work with, what do people ask again and again in first contact, and what do you deliberately not want to offer?
02
Which pages are actually needed – often fewer than expected – and how the copy should sound.
03
If helpful, I’ll show you design ideas or a clickable prototype first. I design with your real content instead of placeholders.
04
Build, data protection set up properly, training. You then update availability and holidays yourself.
Before you get in touch
The questions that come sooner or later
You do. Domain, access and content run on your own accounts, and I build the site so someone else could take it over without untangling it first. That keeps you independent of me.
You get all access details, the files and documentation someone else can read. Classes and structure are named so other developers can find their way around.
That depends a lot on the scope – a website is on a different scale from a portal or an ongoing collaboration. You’ll get a reliable timeframe after our first conversation.
I’ll give you the exact scope after our first conversation.
